Defibrillators Save Lives

Defibrillators Save Lives

How much is a life worth? £1,000, £10,000, 1 million or more? Around 60,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the UK every year. During a cardiac arrest a defibrillator is the only effective treatment for restoring a regular heartbeat; they are simple to operate for someone with no medical background and come with clear instructions. Defibrillator courses combine practical skills and knowledge so you can act quickly and safely in an emergency situation.

Acting quickly when someone is in cardiac arrest and fighting for his or her life is crucially important; Midsussex Golf Club is a prime example of how swift action in an emergency can help save a life. Twelve members of staff at the Midsussex Golf Club underwent bespoke first aid training by Blue Earth Training Ltd and together with Material Matters now offer extensive first aid training for all golf clubs and members at a discounted rate.
